VTech Innotab 3, The Learning App Tablet GIVEAWAY!

Default post image

CLOSED

*UPDATED to add a giveaway! See bottom of this post

Recently, my daughter and I were provided a sample (from VTech) to review the new VTech Innotab 3 Learning Tablet, and it couldn’t have come at a better time! My daughter has gone through some serious dental work lately, so we’ve been relying on the VTech Innotab 3 to keep her quiet, entertained and educated while we’ve had some long waits at the dentist’s office.

The Innotab 3 is a learning app tablet, that literally has hundreds of uses!

My daughter was so excited, she couldn't wait for me to take a pic to open it!

My daughter was so excited, she couldn’t wait for me to take a pic to open it!

There’s a 180° rotating camera and video recorder that will keep your kiddos entertained for HOURS by letting them edit photos, special effects and more! This has to be my daughter’s favorite use, because she loves making movies of herself and friends with it. The fact that it rotates is something I love, because she’s not always asking me to hold the camera 😉 With the camera, there’s also the WonderCam which can add funny faces, frames, backgrounds and crazy effects to any of your photos! With 55 different effects, your child will have a blast!

The art studio brings out even more creativity within your child, by letting them “paint”, draw, color, and using stickers to decorate their masterpieces! M loves to use the art studio when she’s having quiet time. It’s a great app for the car, or when you’re waiting for a table at your favorite restaurant!

Kiddo playing quietly, while we had a one-hour wait!

The built-in E-reader with Story Dictionary really helps your budding reader! They can read interactive e-books that you can download from the Learning Lodge, and learn the meanings of words with the built-in story dictionary. This is something we love to do together, where we can talk about the story once she’s finished reading. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my daughter’s reading comprehension after using the Innotab 3 for a couple weeks. Parents can also track their child’s progress in the Learning Lodge as well.

And of course, there are games! Using motion, sound and touch, your child can use the D-Pad and stylus (an extra one is even included!) to add to fun! My Magic Beanstalk is a really fun game included, where you have to “grow” your beanstalk with magic! It’s a favorite, and I found myself playing with it AFTER my kiddo went to bed!

You can also download several of your favorite character games and books through the Learning Lodge (there’s over 350 apps available!)! We’ve found Disney Planes, Monsters University and even BRAVE related apps!

The Innotab 3 also comes with MP3 player, Notes, Calendar, Clock, Calculator (a must-have for my math-obsessed 2nd grader) and Friends List apps.

When you register your VTech Innotab 3 in the Learning Lodge, you also receive a one-year limited warranty, and 1 free download (some restrictions apply).

To find out more, you can also visit VTech on Facebook and Twitter.

PinyPon Party sponsored by MommyParties!

Default post image

Recently, my daughter and I were chosen to host a PinyPon party sponsored by MommyParties (By publishing this post, I received free products as part of a promotional program with MomSelect. All opinions are my own)! PinyPon toys are especially designed mini-dolls and their world inhabited by independent and modern girls, who love fashion, accessories and the newest hairstyles. Shopping is one of their favorite things to do! With their pets, they travel the world in their super-cool van going to new places and making new friends. Pinypon is a colorful collection of interchangeable friends. You can mix and match everything – dresses, accessories, hairstyles and even faces, for tons of fun!

At our party, we were given 12 sets of dolls-one for each girl (it really worked out that we had exactly 12 Daisies!). To make it more fun, the adults took apart the dolls and their accessories and divided them up. We made a PinyPon buffet and the girls were so excited. We actually did this activity as a Girl Scout Daisy badge earning opportunity- learning patience and to share with others. Basically practicing good manners!

Each girl lined up, and chose one head, body, purse/bag, accessory and hairstyle.

20121202-203942.jpg

After they chose their PinyPon items, they traded them for about an hour to design the perfect doll! After, they were awarded with a PinyPon certificate naming their doll, and their Daisy patch. It was a fantastic way to promote friendship, sharing and creativity. You can check out more information on PinyPon on Facebook and Twitter as well.

The girls were also introduced to Nenuco Baby Dolls– all the girls thought they were so cute! With Nenuco, children repeat daily routines-eating, bathing, dressing, going for a walk in the park. They learn to be responsible, taking care of their baby, at the same time they develop their capacity for communication. You can check out Nenuco on Facebook and Twitter too!

Because we were only given two dolls, instead of raffling them off, the Daisies decided to donate them to a local family in need. We were so proud of their decision. But if you’re in love with PinyPon and Nenuco dolls, head to their websites for more information and savings! I know a few girls who will be receiving PinyPon dolls in their stockings this Christmas. They really make perfect gifts!

A few of my favorite things: Magnetic Hair Flair Organizer

Default post image

A couple months ago, my friend Jenny from Momminitup.com did this really cool Pin for the Wednesday craft- the DIY Magnetic Hair Bow Board. I thought it was pretty cool, and I luuuuuurve all things organizational. So I thought I’d give it the good ‘ol college try and make my own on the cheap.

I went to Michael’s Craft Store with a coupon in hand- and did my best to shop only in the clearance section (the magnets were totally full price, so I had to use the coupon for those). In the clearance section I found a generic magnetic board ($7), magnetic hooks ($2) and a magnetic locker bin ($1). The actual mini-magnets were $6, but I was able to use a 40% off coupon because they were full price. In all, I had invested about $14.

And here’s what I came up with:

The magnets hold great, and I love the way it all came together. My only complaint is that I didn’t get a bigger board!

Here’s a better look at the hook, which I used to hang her crochet hats from:

The magnetic locker bin was a fantastic idea- it was a great way to store my daughter’s crochet headbands. These would normally get tossed in a drawer and would get forgotten, but with them displayed like this my daughter always has her choices neatly laid out!

Totally worth $14! It’s a great way to organize my daughter’s “hair flair” and makes a great focal point in her room. It also saves her time in the morning because she doesn’t have to dig through a box of bows to decide what she’s going to wear. Total win-win! It also makes a great inexpensive gift. Put one together and add a few bows for the special lady in your life!

A few of my favorite things: The TimeMug

Today I am featuring an item that I absolutely love, and can’t live without! The TimeMug is a stylish, affordable and practical coffee mug for both men and women who are on the go! Especially for those who can’t or don’t like to wear watches.

TimeMug’s patented design is a 16-ounce, DISHWASHER SAFE (yeah moms, I totally yelled this- because it’s true!!) time-telling mug that is ideal for both hot and cold beverages. It has a tapered bottom, so it fits in even the strangest cup holder. I drive a Chevy Trailblazer which has the smallest cup holders that I’ve ever seen, and the TimeMug fits perfectly!

20121119-105155.jpg

The TimeMug also comes in a pretty package, and just needs a bow to top it off. It literally makes the best and easiest gift!

20121119-105248.jpg

Available in 17 colors across several collections (though there aren’t any polka dots-yet!), TimeMug is perfect for on-the-go moms, dads, executives, teachers and everyone in between who wants to make a fashion statement.

The TimeMug has been featured in the media on outlets such as the Today Show and E News, they are popular with many celebrities and also make a great holiday gift. All of my “teacher friends” love my TimeMug, and I can’t go anywhere without getting a compliment on it. Also, TimeMug’s Hope collection supports breast cancer awareness! It’s a mug that does good.

A real celebrity. Holding the TimeMug. For real.

At the moment, Domestic Debacle readers can get a 20% discount by using the code: domestic in checkout!

I love a great savings!

Want to win your own fuchsia rhinestone eternity TimeMug (it’s just like mine!)? Just do the following:
