YoPlait Whips Giveaway!!

Hi everyone! I was recently given the opportunity to review Yoplait Whips (from my good friends at My Blog Spark)- FROZEN!

Tummy Tickler!

Okay, so I’m not the “official spokesperson” for Tummy Tickers. But… I should be. So, anyone out there from Tummy Tickler land- I’m at your service!

This morning at a play date, I noticed another mom with the Tummy Tickler set. Of course, I had to ask her what she thought about it, and also share my experience. Another mom, Jenny from Momminitup, suggested I blog about my thoughts- so here they are!

I first became a fan of this product back in 2006, when M started drinking from sippy cups. We had family in town for her 1st birthday and were running around like chickens with our heads cut off. During all the commotion, I forgot to bring a sippy cup with me. We were at Target, but she was too young to drink from a straw so juice was out. I was not about to go to give her a Coke, so I knew I needed to improvise. While I was in the juice aisle, I found this little jem:
Oh yeah. They’re awesome. Not only can you open them right up and use them right there, but they are dishwasher safe (so it’s reusable and earth friendly), they don’t leak AT ALL (seriously, I’m not kidding here- 2 years later of dishwasher abuse and they are still going strong) and come in characters my daughter LOVES! They are also filled with 100% juice, so you don’t feel like a bad parent for giving them something that might be bad for them. In my years of experience buying these, they are the BEST sippy cup/ juice product in the market- and are worth every single penny you pay for them. Right now, Meijer has them on sale too, so snatch them up before I do!
Even better, they don’t need to be refrigerated. Keep them in the car, take them to the beach or museum (I like to sneak mine into the movie theater-shhh! don’t tell) and know you’re giving your kids the best when you give them Tummy Ticklers.

Yes, I made it for dinner

Don’t y’all love my fancy-schmancy photography SKILLZ? Oh- and before you yell at me, I made up this plate with leftovers. There are normally a whole lot more green beans on our plates.

This is my “new” favorite recipe. And, I say “new” because I screwed it up, but in the end made it that-much-better.
Here’s the recipe for oven fried chicken with my spin on it:
Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees.
4 med. chicken breasts
1 “sleeve” of Ritz crackers
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon black crushed pepper
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons butter melted
Put the Ritz crackers, rosemary, paprika and crushed pepper in a ziploc bag. Get out as much air as you can and seal. Hand the bag to your toddler, and let them crush away. Tell them to keep the top closed, or they are headed to time-out.
Meanwhile, you grease a low-edge pan (I use my cookie sheet) and mix the milk and egg together in whatever cake pan you have (I find it has the best edge for this kind of project).
Take the ziploc bag away from your child and make sure all of the Ritz crackers are crushed and the spices are well incorporated. Praise your child for helping Mommy (or Daddy) in the kitchen!
Pour the contents into another pan. Now, dip the chicken into the egg/milk mixture. Make sure the chicken is covered well, then transfer to the cracker mixture. Do the same, then put on the cookie sheet. Repeat until you have no more chicken left to give a bath to.
Then, drizzle the meelted butter on top…
Throw in the oven for 45 minutes and you’re good to go! I usually serve mine with green beans and some kind of starch.
Now- you can try it the cookbook way- just by replacing the rosemary with thyme. I’ve made it with the thyme many times before, but I think it just tastes oh-so-much-better with rosemary!

The Burger Blog.

Happy belated Valentine’s Day everyone!!

My DH and I went for our “V-Day Date” last night, a day late. It was well worth it though. TGI Fridays is offering their entrees “BOGO” with this coupon here. It was a $25,000 burger. I’m not kidding you. Not at all. It was the best burger my DH and I have ever tasted. EVER! It was amazing! It’s making my mouth water just thinking about it! He ordered it medium-well, and it was still super juicy. The ham and bacon went so well together (only complaint is that it’s a tad on the salty side, so keep the drinks-a-comin’), and the pimento cheese added a whole nother zest to it. Not to mention the to-die-for pickles on it as well. The bun was fresh, and brought it all together! You must try this burger, and for $8.99, it’s a steal!

I, however, ordered this gem. It’s the TGI Friday’s gourmet mac and 5 cheese dinner. The chicken on top was extremely tender, and oh-so-yummy. The 5 cheeses (Fontina, Bleu, Gruyere, white Cheddar and Parmesan) is tossed with crispy bacon and penne pasta, and topped with Bleu cheese crumbles and a Parmesan-crust topping. None of the cheeses were too strong. They all went together well. Like a little happy cheese family. It was amazing, and PERFECT for my frugal appetite, at only $5.99 a plate. So, with both entrees and my hubbie’s coke (I’m a devout water girl), it came to a grand total of $11.50 for our belated Valentine’s dinner date. It can be yours too, just go get it (just make sure you take a walk after eating, or you’ll feel like you have a brick in your tummy)!
