Keepin’ it clean- kitchen edition Tuesday Swiffer Wet Jet

So one of my secret weapons in the kitchen- really isn’t so secret.

I use Swiffer like an addict.

And I’m not kidding.

I love the Swiffer Wet Jet for the kitchen floor because it’s fast, easy and I can throw the pad away. It’s an all-in-one item. I love not having to deal with those NASTY mops that do nothing but turn my mop water brown before I’ve even touched my floor.

And I big-pink-puffy-heart the fact that the scent comes in orange. I love the way citrus smells in the kitchen!

And no, I didn’t get anything for this review. It’s my opinion. ‘Cause I’m cool like that.

Little work, with lots of results!

Keepin’ it clean Thursdays- Cure for the mildewy shower curtain

You know the mold/mildewy bottom of your shower curtain that you are totally grossed out by?

Well, want to know how to prevent it- and/or get rid of it?

Cut it off.

That’s right.

Cut it off.

Go grab a pair of scissors and cut that bottom section off. If it’s not there, it can’t get mildewy, right? If it’s already mildewy, you can just toss it out (after cutting off the yuck) and save yourself the cost of another curtain!

And your curtain is STILL going to hang low enough that the water isn’t going to escape.

Keepin’ it clean- kitchen Tuesdays

Smelly garbage disposal?

Use fresh lemon or orange rinds (or the whole thing, cut into chunks) to spruce it up!

Throw them in, with a few ice cubes- which help sharpen your garbage disposal blades and run it for a few seconds (with cold water running) and it will smell as good as new!

*But never, ever grind potato skins in your disposal. As it will clog and flood your kitchen. Especially on Thanksgiving. Really. But I wouldn’t know ANYTHING about that…

Toilet keeps clogging?

Does it still smell, even after it has been flushed?

You can fight both of these issues, with

- wait for it-

Baking soda!

Just pour 1 cup of baking soda into the toilet bowl weekly to avoid odors and clogging.

Don’t ask me how it works- it just does!
