Do you need a break?

Default post image

I need a time-out.
I need a break.
I need a vacation.

We need to clean the house.
We need to do some laundry.
We need to change the sheets.

I’ll give you two guesses as to which need will be taken care of first, and it won’t be one that begins with an “I”. But then again, by “We”, I really mean “me”.

Who knew domestic servitude could have such lows? Ha. Ha.

Default post image

So I was on Tip Junkie the other day, and came accross this post:

It completely inpired me to make my own “Halloweenie” one for M. She wants todress up as a witch this year, so I thought this might work, without the blue pajamas ofcourse!

ice cubes melting 1 AJHD

So I just called the rink, as M has practice tonight. They are still without power, and the rink is nice and toasty, which means no ice. No ice means no skating. Which means I have to break it to M that she will not be skating tonight (she just turned 3 yesterday, so I’m not sure she’ll understand). I don’t want to be me right now…

Ike vs. the Miami Valley

Default post image

storm

So it’s been awhile on here, and for good reason. We were hit by hurricane Ike’s winds (68mph) on Sunday and promptly lost power. We got our electricity back on yesterday after loosing well over $200 worth of food. There was little damage to our home, just shingles missing. Our tree in the front yard (the little one) was up-rooted and the tree in the back lost a large limb. And we are on the corner! The condos down the street lost some huge trees. Most of the area is still without power, and I can’t imagine being them. I have never been camping before, but this was close enough, and I am NEVER doing it. EVER. Yesterday was M’s birthday, and we took her to Chuck E. Cheese, one of the few places open in the Valley. The photo I’ve posted above is of Crews working on a downed 138,000-volt DPL transmission line on Tuesday, Sept. 16. It’s located in Sugarcreek, which is just outside of Beavercreek, and where I worked before becoming a domestic disaster.

Default post image

My husband and I have been married for almost 6 years now. We had a quiet wedding ceremony at Walt Disney World for just the two of us. We got married on a Tuesday afternoon at the Walt Disney Yacht Club, and that morning we rented out the park for 2.5 hours for pictures. They turned out amazing, even though I was sooooo sick.

So let me get to the real story behind this post:

Lately, my loving hubby was complaining about something bothering his allergies in our room. So I cleaned like crazy. His allergies were still bothering him. Then, I realized my wedding dress was STILL in the box we shipped it to Ohio in the day after we were married. I’ve been keeping the box behind a dresser! Oh the dust! My beautiful dress has been in this cardboard box since April 9th, 2003! I pulled it out of the box this morning (yes this post is on time) and it’s still as beautiful as the day I first saw it. Although I think it shrank several sizes. icon wink
