Udi’s Gluten Free Foods Review

Default Image

Recently, I was chosen to review a big ‘ol box of Udi’s Gluten Free Foods!

photo 31 e1330477574571 225x300

It came with:

Now, I’ll be honest. No one in my family is Gluten Free. Nor have we ever tried anything that was deliberately marked Gluten Free.

In other words- this was an adventure for us!

As soon as I received the box in the mail, my 6 year-old picky eater pounced on it.

Specifically: the bagels. Whole wheat bagels. Never in a million years did I think my 6 year-old would like something whole grain…

But here she is:

photo 12 e1330477951260 225x300

A true testament to the “yummy deliciousness” of the Gluten Free Whole Grain Bagel. A direct quote- I kid you not. For the next hour I had to listen to her ask “what’s the secret ingredient, mommy?” and “I want a bagel for diiiiiiiner”. She ate the entire package all by herself. I got one bite. And she was right. It was yummy deliciousness.

The blueberry muffin tops (which you won’t find pictured here) were consumed as quickly as I opened the box. Only one lonely top made it to school for a snack. As soon as these were gone, we headed to the store to buy more. They’re all individually packed, which make them a great throw-in-your-purse-backpack-laptop bag-or-pocket snack on the run option.

The Gluten Free Millet Chia bread was the only “strange” option for us. But, toast that baby up and throw some Nutella on it, and you’ve got pure breakfast gold!

Then…

There was the Granola.

OH.

MY.

WORD.

Their Granola should come with several warnings.

Like:

You’re going to become addicted. Just give in.

You’re going to slap your grandma because it’s so good.

You’re going to get in an all-out brawl with your 6 year-old daughter because she won’t share THE GRANOLA.

photo 21 e1330478589555 225x300

Yeah, that’s my kid SHOVELING granola into her, well, what she used to call her “pie hole” (it’s now called her “granola hole”).

She ate the ENTIRE. BAG. ON. HER. OWN. Within 24 hours.

And let me tell you, my kid is picky. She’s the kid who argues with the lunch lady about the difference between kalamatta Olives and queen olives. So you know the stuff is good (she doesn’t have a “normal” kid palate).

Needless to say, Udi’s Gluten Free Foods have no gluten but they have TONS of flavor. We’re very happy Udi’s customers, and will be for life.

If you’d like to try any of these Udi’s Gluten Free Foods, you can head to Kroger, Publix, Whole Foods and even some Wal-Mart stores. If none of those stores are nearby, check out Udi’s website to order them!

Also, if you’re so inclined, check them out on Facebook and Twitter! They’re one of those great brands that like to interact with their customers (for real- they’ve actually tweeted me before!).

Products were received in order to facilitate my review. No money exchanged hands. This is my honest-to-goodness opinion. Nothing influences it.

Shoplet.com Avery Product Review

Default Image

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review Avery’s EZD Heavy-Duty Reference View Binder, Avery Custom Spine Inserts and Avery Note Tabs thanks to Shoplet.com!

Shoplet.com is an awesome location on the internets to find all your essential office supplies- and get them shipped right to your door!

First up:

Avery Heavy Duty Ring Reference Binder:

photo 2 e1330396123902 225x300

An awesome (and HUGE) binder that can store almost anything! I love how it’s got some weight to it- it’s not flimsy at all. It has a true “D-ring” which helps prevent snagging. The Ring Binder also has one touch mechanisms- that you won’t get your fingers all bent out of shape over. I love how it literally takes one finger to open. No juggling or fussing here! It has 4 clear inside pockets, which I think is one of the coolest features ever.

photo 1 e1330396272339 225x300

(You can barely tell in this pic, but the binder labels and binder tabs are in separate pockets.)

If you’re a teacher or PTO parent like me, this is an essential tool to keep you organized. I also love that it has a clear vinyl outer shell that you can customize with…

Avery Custom Binder Spine Inserts! (Like how I transitioned there? Yeah… me too icon wink )

photo 4 e1330396599255 225x300

Okay, these binder labels are a BLAST to play with because they are so fun and easy to print on (my 2012-2013 school binder *might just have* “Zombie Apocalypse Manual” printed on it for kicks)! And when I say easy to use- I really mean it. They work with any printer. And if you have any issues, they have a number to call on them! And even better, you can bling them up, and change them out when you get bored.

Then we have our Avery Note Tabs:

photo 3 e1330397071435 225x300

Oh these are SUPER COOL! I know, I yelled, but it’s true. They’re bendable. You can write on them, you can highlight on them and the note tabs are completely see through! I happened to use them to organize my taxes. Perfect right?

So make sure you head on over to Shoplet.com for all your office supply needs. They’ve got an incredible selection, and know what they’re talking about.

*The above products were supplied to facilitate my review. No money exchanged hands. My opinion wasn’t influenced in any way. The products really are that cool. No joke.

A very Ragu Christmas (and giveaway)!-CLOSED

RaguheaderOldWorldTrad 300x65

Recently, Ragu gave me the opportunity to host another party for myself, family and friends. So I did what I did last time- I organized a small Facebook group to ask my friends what they wanted to do.

Their answer amazed me. It made me so proud to know these women.

They wanted to bless two struggling families with a very Ragu Christmas instead of having a party.

Since we weren’t having a formal party, and just an open house to drop off gifts for the families we opened the group up for 40+ women to share in our very Ragu Christmas!

This year I was so blessed to be a part of the Ragu Team, by being a Ragu Mom’s The Word on Dinner ambassador. It meant so much to me that I got an opportunity to help others by sharing the gift of Ragu as my last “party” of the year. So, my friends and I hit the stores- mainly the Ragu aisle:

RaguShelf e1325104972620 225x300

I picked up as many jars as my cart could hold. It was such a great feeling knowing that these two families wouldn’t have to worry about dinner for a very long time. And it made it so much better knowing that it was a healthy and fresh dinner (I had the opportunity to interview Frank the Ragu tomato farmer, and he said that his tomatoes are processed within 8 hours of picking- that’s more fresh than the tomatoes in your produce section!) with 2 servings of veggies every half cup of sauce.

With Ragu in hand, my friends started to come by my home with more gifts for the families. We kept it a private group, because we wanted this to be a complete surprise. With the help of family members for one, and the help of my daughter’s principal for the other, it was easy to keep the secret (which was really cool, considering I had over 40 women involved!).

photo 225x300

As you can see, we had so much for these families! The bags were so full of Ragu, we actually had to move some of the jars to the baskets when it came time to deliver (which I cannot believe I forgot to take pictures of the delivery!). We even had a manager’s wife at our local Cracker Barrel find out what we were doing, and their family donated 2 gift certificates, one for each family. It was truly amazing how Ragu brought all of us together for one great Ragu Christmas. It was so awesome being able to sign the Christmas cards “From those in your community who love you, all thanks to Ragu for really making it happen!”.
