M’s first day at school

Since, it’s mid-November, I’d say it’s about time I finally post the pictures from M’s first day at school.

008

She’s come a long way since then (cough::sharing::cough) and it’s amazing to see how much she has matured since her first day. Granted, I took her out of school for 2 weeks to go to Disney World, so she had a later start than the other kids. It’s also amazing to see how I am no longer crying for an hour have gotten used to my time without her around.

009

But, all of this is about to change. I won’t be missing her while she’s at school anymore. I’ve been asked by the director to be a substitute teacher for her class (one of her teachers is going to be away for about 6 weeks). So for the first time in almost 5 years, I’m going to have a real live paycheck. Um, YAY!!!

First came love…

Then came marriage…

And then came… well, you get the idea.

And thanks to Disney, the DD’s were established April 8, 2003 and are carrying on the tradition of the magic ever since. Even to celebrate our Disney Princess’ 4th birthday, on September 16, 2009.

Words can’t begin to describe our gratitude to the Walt Disney Company.

The Day Disney’s Tinkerbell, almost ended up with a black eye.

So shortly after the BBB event, we headed over to Mickey’s Toon Town to see Tinkerbell and Friends. The sign said the wait to see the pixies was 20 minutes.

Disney lies.

It was actually 90 minutes. Make sure you ask a cast member to verify that the sign is correct. Lesson learned, Disney. Kthanks.

So even though the wait was crazy-long, it ends up being worth it. I do not want to giveaway any special things here, but let’s just say, the wait was cool. And you spend a lot of time interacting with the 5″ crowd.

Now, you’re probably thinking, “just get to it Debacle, why did Tink almost get her lights knocked out?”. Well, its because she got into it with M. In one of her “moods”. Remember this mood? Well, it pales in comparison. I thought we  were going to get kicked out of the park with the BOLO “for a 4 ft tall Cinderella with bloody fists”

Why? M showed Tink her newly painted nails.

Then all H-E-L-L broke loose.

Here’s the conversation:

Tink: “Hi M! I love your nails, what pretty berry juice!”

M:”Um, Tink, hate to tell you this, but it’s just nail polish.”

Tink: “Right, but it’s made with berry juice”

M: “No, it’s nail polish”

Tink: “Right, with berry juice”

M: “NO TINKERBELL. IT’S NOT BERRY JUICE. IT’S NAIL POLISH. IT COMES IN A JAR.”

Tink: “Made of berry juice.”

M: “TINK. I’VE TOLD YOU ONCE. IT’S JUST NAIL POLISH, IT JUST IS!!”

I think what set M off the most, was that Tink was laughing the whole time, probably thinking about how she was going to tell all the other fairies in the bar about the peeved princess after work. It’s what I would have done. For sure.

At this point, SilverMist hears the commotion and comes over for the rescue, ’cause my 4 year-old dressed as Cindy is ready for a beat down.

Then M relayed the whole situation to SilverMist. And then gave her a lecture about stealing things from REAL people (there’s “stuff” all over room- just go and see what I’m talking about, you won’t be dissapointed). I don’t know where my kid gets this from. All I know, is that she’s pretty much against the whole fairy race.

And here’s Fawn: Who knew her place and was sweet as pie to M

And guess what- we made it out alive. I’m not sure if we’ll be visiting the fairies any time soon.

Disney’s Bippidy Boppidy Boutique

Another way to spoil your princess on her birthday, is the Bippidy Boppidy Boutique, in Cinderella’s Castle, or Down Town Disney. Packages are available for every budget, starting at $35-$290. It all depends on how broke you want to be on your vacation. icon smile

But really, they range from just a hairstyle, up to the works with costume and accessories. M had the crown package, which included a hairstyle with rhinestone tiara (not a cheap one either & you get to pick the color), rhinestone Mickey Mouse clip, Makeup (and set to take home) and your choice of nail polish (which you take home as well). All for $58. We brought our costume with us, so that saved us a chunk of change. To me, this is a HUGE deal. There is no way I could take M to a salon here in Ohio, and only spend $58 for what I got. It just doesn’t happen.

This is awesome for your special little princess. They get the full royal treatment from their own personal “fairy godmother in training”. But, I also saw a 16 year-old getting her hair done too. One fairy godmother told me that they’re noticing more moms getting it done too. I think it adds to the Disney Magic, so GO FOR IT!

Here is M’s before picture:

And her after shots:

This was probably M’s favorite thing to do, and I am so glad I waited until the last day we were there. I’m afraid she would have asked for it everyday if we would have done it sooner in the trip, so keep in mind when you’re getting it done.

After all is said and done, good luck getting out all the glitter and hair gel. Even a month later, we’re still trying to get that glitter out of her hair. I kid you not.

But, after all of that, Bippidy Boppidy Boutique is worth every.single. penny. And the biggest must do if you have your own Disney Princess. Just make the ressie. You won’t be disappointed. I promise.

My Money-Mouse-Saving-Tip: Buy the costume online and bring it with you. Buy the accessories at a local store (hint: they don’t have to be Disney. I bought M’s “glass slippers” at Target for $11, and they are the Circo silver glitter shoes) and also bring those with you. You’ll save a ton of cash!!
