Disney and C Diff.

Default post image

I’ve noticed a lot of hits lately on my blog from the search “Disney and C Diff” or “Disney trip and C Diff” and “surviving C Diff”. If you were directed here because one or more of those searches and have questions, please feel free to ask. I suffered from a severe C Diff infection July-October 2009 (I was hospitalized off and on during that time) and made a Disney trip that September with my doctor’s permission. You can either leave a comment below- which I do moderate, so you can specify if you want me to post it or not or you can use my comment page. Just know that you are not alone and I will keep everything anonymous.

A few of my favorite things: Magnetic Hair Flair Organizer

Default post image

A couple months ago, my friend Jenny from Momminitup.com did this really cool Pin for the Wednesday craft- the DIY Magnetic Hair Bow Board. I thought it was pretty cool, and I luuuuuurve all things organizational. So I thought I’d give it the good ‘ol college try and make my own on the cheap.

I went to Michael’s Craft Store with a coupon in hand- and did my best to shop only in the clearance section (the magnets were totally full price, so I had to use the coupon for those). In the clearance section I found a generic magnetic board ($7), magnetic hooks ($2) and a magnetic locker bin ($1). The actual mini-magnets were $6, but I was able to use a 40% off coupon because they were full price. In all, I had invested about $14.

And here’s what I came up with:

The magnets hold great, and I love the way it all came together. My only complaint is that I didn’t get a bigger board!

Here’s a better look at the hook, which I used to hang her crochet hats from:

The magnetic locker bin was a fantastic idea- it was a great way to store my daughter’s crochet headbands. These would normally get tossed in a drawer and would get forgotten, but with them displayed like this my daughter always has her choices neatly laid out!

Totally worth $14! It’s a great way to organize my daughter’s “hair flair” and makes a great focal point in her room. It also saves her time in the morning because she doesn’t have to dig through a box of bows to decide what she’s going to wear. Total win-win! It also makes a great inexpensive gift. Put one together and add a few bows for the special lady in your life!

A few of my favorite things: The TimeMug

Today I am featuring an item that I absolutely love, and can’t live without! The TimeMug is a stylish, affordable and practical coffee mug for both men and women who are on the go! Especially for those who can’t or don’t like to wear watches.

TimeMug’s patented design is a 16-ounce, DISHWASHER SAFE (yeah moms, I totally yelled this- because it’s true!!) time-telling mug that is ideal for both hot and cold beverages. It has a tapered bottom, so it fits in even the strangest cup holder. I drive a Chevy Trailblazer which has the smallest cup holders that I’ve ever seen, and the TimeMug fits perfectly!

The TimeMug also comes in a pretty package, and just needs a bow to top it off. It literally makes the best and easiest gift!

Available in 17 colors across several collections (though there aren’t any polka dots-yet!), TimeMug is perfect for on-the-go moms, dads, executives, teachers and everyone in between who wants to make a fashion statement.

The TimeMug has been featured in the media on outlets such as the Today Show and E News, they are popular with many celebrities and also make a great holiday gift. All of my “teacher friends” love my TimeMug, and I can’t go anywhere without getting a compliment on it. Also, TimeMug’s Hope collection supports breast cancer awareness! It’s a mug that does good.
