I know it seems as if I’ve abandoned my blog, and I kinda have.
Unfortunately (fortunately that we’ve noticed?) lately, life has certainly taken over and motherhood has been the focus. We’ve been having some discipline/educational issues with M lately, and are giving our complete focus to her. Granted the issues we’re experiencing are because she’s bored in school and in her ballet lessons. She’s one of those kids who need constant movement, and once she has something figured out, she needs to move on or it’s play time. We recognized the issue, and prayed about what to do. Thankfully God pointed us in a positive direction that is already benefiting not only M, but also our entire family.
Even though I swore I never would home school M, it’s been the solution to her discipline issues we’ve been looking for. I’ve done my best to make it clear to her that school is still important not only for social reasons but she needs to learn to respect her elders. So now, instead of her stressing about not learning enough in school (she would come home each school day sad and disappointed that she didn’t learn anything “new”) she knows that everyday (5 days a week) I will be teaching her something new. Thankfully, we have a wonderful educational store in our area that is fantastic for finding home schooling supplies.
We’re also getting her more involved with her kindergarten school, by signing her up for summer soccer.
I’m going to be a soccer mom. OH EM GEE.
Just add it to the list of “I’m NEVER going to do that… but I totally am because it’s best for my kid.”.
has been a complete. and utter. failure.
She has no respect for her teachers and is bored 15 minutes into class. I certainly won’t sign her up for that ever again. It’s just not her speed, and I’m not going to force her to stay in it. But she does have to finish out the year. I’ve already bought the costume, darn it!
She’s still taking drum lessons, and is loving it. She’s just not as interested in practicing at home (which we bought her a drum set for). If any of you have any suggestions on how to help with that, I’d be grateful for the advice. I’d like her to practice 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week- which her teacher suggested for her age. I just haven’t come up with a successful reward system yet.
So that’s where we are right now. I’m going to try to get up to speed with my blog this week. I’ve got some great news to share with you all, and will also have some fantastic reviews as well.
I hope you have an amazing mother’s day! I know I will, I’ll be sharing it with the ones I love most!
