Where the heck have I been?

Wow it’s been awhile since I’ve actually written any updates on myself or my family!

But I assure you, it was for good reason. J,M and I have been gone for the majority of September, to the happiest place on earth and Tampa (I’m not saying that Tampa isn’t happy, but let’s be honest here. It’s no Disney World.).

Which I am sure that you’re surprised you haven’t heard about yet. See, the thing is, I’m starting a new business venture (hold me!) and need to keep some stuff still under wraps.

But back to September, when I left for Florida I was a mom to a 4 year-old.

(this was M’s first morning as a 5 year-old)

When I came back to Ohio, I brought with me a 5 year-old.

Who is completely different.

I swear to you, my child changed over night into this mature little helper. It’s quite amazing. The temper-tantrums have decreased significantly and I feel like I have this new little best friend who prefers Panera over McDonalds now (even though I prefer a Happy Meal every now and then). It makes me laugh to see her change so much in such a small amount of time.

Or maybe I’m imagining things. Either way, I’m cool with it.

So like I said, we’re back in Ohio now, as you could probably tell from the Disney on Ice posts. We’ve been going non-stop since we have been home too. We’ve had school start, ballet lessons, doctors appointments (M got 4 shots and her flu mist this go-round), the Renaissance Festival, her birthday party (which included 11 of her best friends-INSANE-but man, can we throw a party!)  and something new- DRUM lessons.

Because clearly, I’m can’t say no a glutton for punishment.

Actually, her drum lessons are great. She has practice pads for now at home, which aren’t loud at all (not like it matters to me, because I just turn off my hearing aids). She’s already reading some music and really pays attention.

J has been super busy with work. If you’ve watched the news and know where he works, you’ll understand why. Right now I am pushing him to study for some upcoming certifications so we can go back to Disney to celebrate (his idea, not mine!) him passing them.

And as for me, I’ve been busy just trying to get the house ready for winter. Well, and that other gig. And the other new one I’m starting. Needless to say, I’m getting a ton done, but keep adding to my list. A woman’s work is truly never done! As for the CDiff, I’m still having my ups and downs, but it’s not nearly as bad as it was this time last year. I’ve gained most of my weight back, which is a very bad thing, so I’m working at getting some of it off.I think I gained it all back while we were in Florida too. But, seriously. I was at DISNEY on the dining plan, and then went to see my in-laws. Good food was abound!

I completely let my 10-year anniversary of being deaf/hard of hearing pass right on by in September. It’s amazing to think that I’ve lived like this for that long now. I’ve given up on any more surgeries (way too risky) and am content with my hearing aid. It’s strange how one moment can really change the course of your whole life. Clearly God saw this path for me, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I am so thankful for my amazing husband and daughter.

So that’s where I’ve been. I’ll try not to let things get so far behind again!
