Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Spirit of Aloha Luau!

AddComments

We were very lucky to score this ADR early, for Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Spirit of Aloha Luau! This is a wonderful family friendly “dinner show” that is offered in the evenings. It’s all you can eat (brought to you, not a buffet), and is 2 table dining credits per person, on the Disney Dining Plan. There are tiers of where you can sit, with the first being closest to the stage, and on the floor. We were on a platform with tier 2, and I thought the seats were just as great if not better than tier 1. There is also a tier 3, and it’s on the same platform as tier 2, just more in the back. Either way, I don’t think there’s a bad seat, but sometimes you have to fight your view because of the support beams from the canopy. Yes, there is a canopy incase you get one of those Florida freak rain storms, which we had the pleasure of experiencing.

But to get the night started off right, the cast members brought everyone on stage that was having a birthday, and were taught a special little dance:

M clearly had a great time learning the dance, Minnie ears and all.

This was the dessert, somehow I forgot to take pictures of the actual food, but I could not resist taking a picture of how it was brought out to us. It was chocolate mouse, with raspberry sauce in a caramel pond (I can’t think of what else to call it!).

Our Cast Member David even surprised M with a candle, and sang to her for her birthday. It tasted as good as it looks. YUMMAY! And it was probably my favorite dessert we had the entire time we were there (but I hate sweets, so you probably shouldn’t listen to my opinion on desserts, k?).

The dancers were FANTASTIC! And sorry ladies, they are dressed to please the dads. Very little is worn…

But the men are dressed to please the moms icon wink Okay, Okay, I kid. They are traditional costumes that are used for the show.

Now, the main highlight of the night was when the fire chief came out and did his dance. The most impressive moment was when it started POURING down rain, and Mr. fire chief never blinked an eye. He did his entire routine in the rain. Talk about stamina!

And I had to include this pic of J and M:

They were both tired, and had the sillies when the night was at a close.

We all had fun at this dinner, and it was J’s moment of choice. If you’ve checked it out, let me know what you thought~and if you haven’t~get yourself a ressie ASAP!
