The recipe I tried

Default post image

So, I forgot to mention the recipe I tried on Friday. It was good, buuuuuuut… You MUST use low-sodium soups. When it first came out of the crock-pot, it tasted great. However as the night went on, it got more-and more-and more (well you get the idea) SALTY!!! So much so, that the left overs we inedible. So please, if you try the recipe, please use low-sodium soups. Your taste buds will thank you for it.

Tonight, we’re having soft tacos.
Ground beef
Taco seasoning
Shredded lettuce
Taco sauce
Soft tortillas
Diced tomatoes
Black olives (if on-sale)
Spanish rice

Yummmmmm

Hopefully this DD (Domestic Debacler) can handle it.

The Burger Blog.

Happy belated Valentine’s Day everyone!!

My DH and I went for our “V-Day Date” last night, a day late. It was well worth it though. TGI Fridays is offering their entrees “BOGO” with this coupon here. It was a $25,000 burger. I’m not kidding you. Not at all. It was the best burger my DH and I have ever tasted. EVER! It was amazing! It’s making my mouth water just thinking about it! He ordered it medium-well, and it was still super juicy. The ham and bacon went so well together (only complaint is that it’s a tad on the salty side, so keep the drinks-a-comin’), and the pimento cheese added a whole nother zest to it. Not to mention the to-die-for pickles on it as well. The bun was fresh, and brought it all together! You must try this burger, and for $8.99, it’s a steal!

I, however, ordered this gem. It’s the TGI Friday’s gourmet mac and 5 cheese dinner. The chicken on top was extremely tender, and oh-so-yummy. The 5 cheeses (Fontina, Bleu, Gruyere, white Cheddar and Parmesan) is tossed with crispy bacon and penne pasta, and topped with Bleu cheese crumbles and a Parmesan-crust topping. None of the cheeses were too strong. They all went together well. Like a little happy cheese family. It was amazing, and PERFECT for my frugal appetite, at only $5.99 a plate. So, with both entrees and my hubbie’s coke (I’m a devout water girl), it came to a grand total of $11.50 for our belated Valentine’s dinner date. It can be yours too, just go get it (just make sure you take a walk after eating, or you’ll feel like you have a brick in your tummy)!

It’s a true Domestic Debacle.

Default post image

Oh dear. We got “paid” this morning. Turns out the cut I mentioned before is really closer to 20%. I had to make humiliating calls this morning, to work out payment plans for our bills. That isn’t the worst of it. We have another cut coming next payday. I think it’s time to get a paying job.

Not only did that happen, but on our *leased* car, the engine light came on. We have to pay $100 just to have the mechanic look at it. The *lease* ends on 3/18. I’m not kidding you. Really, I’m not. Perfect timing, eh?

Disney World is looking further, and further and further away. Just a dream actually.

Now, I’m going to get a little random: Dinner for tonight. Here’s what’s on the menu:
Crock Pot Chicken. I got this recipe from Kraftfoods.com.
Here’s what’s in it:
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of celery soup
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
~spray bottom of crock pot with Pam. Mix soups in a bowl. Put chicken in crock pot, and pour the soup over the chicken. Cover and let cook on low 6-8 hours.
I’m serving mine over rice, and with veggies.

I’ll let you know how it turns out.

More hockey in DAYTON?!?!

Default post image

There is a possibility Dayton could be getting a new ice rink for our home team, the Dayton Bombers. They are currently playing at either the Nutter Center in Fairborn, or Hobart Arena in Troy. In the newspaper this morning, there was this article. I am sooo excited! This could mean more ice time available in the Dayton area, and less crowded group nights at the rec center! I know a lot of people aren’t happy that it could be downtown, but I am thrilled! I only live about 10 minutes from there, and my DH works there too. If only….

It’s the little things

Default post image

I took a long shower yesterday, and got to wash my hair!

Yesterday, instead of housework, M and I went for a walk. We walked up to the office, and back. She actually listened to me too.

The laundry has piled up, but I don’t mind. We still have clean clothes to wear! This means we have too many clothes. I’ll be gathering them up for the homeless shelter before Saturday.

The weather is great. Warm, not sunny, and breezy- bordering on windy.

My gas bill came in. I’ve overpaid $200. I don’t owe anything, and still have a $108 credit.

Our maintenance tech is coming over to look at our water meter. We’re hoping he’ll find out what’s wrong. I know we don’t use as much water as they are saying.

M pooped in her diaper again. Instead of punishing her, I made a deal. Poop in the potty, and I’ll take you to TRU, and you get a My Little Pony. I’m actually hoping this will get expensive!

I’ve decided, if I can’t change something, I’m just going to go with the flow. Loose lips, sink ships.
Tonight, I get to play with a Cricut. I’m so excited! I’m saving all my pennies for the Expression model.
Last night I went to church, instead of my regularly scheduled program. I am so glad I did!
So, there are some little things going on. I hope I didn’t bore you too much!
