Disney World 2014 Intro

Default post image

It’s been a couple years (2012 to be exact) since our last Disney World vacation. It’s been tough, with the hubs getting a new job and our financial situation we haven’t been able to go as often as we had liked. But this year we were able to make it work, and it was so worth it. Honestly, I think we made up for the 2 years we didn’t go.

We hit all 4 parks non-stop, opened and closed each one. Needless to say, we need a vacation from our vacation! We went for our daughter’s 9th birthday (yep, we took her out of school for it- more on that later) during value season and saved quite a bit. I’ll have a breakdown on the cost for you too.

I need to download our photos from the Memory Maker package (if you’re going- this is a must purchase) and as soon as I do, I’ll have a full trip report with tips and new things I’ve learned from this trip. Trust me, they’re big ones.

For now, I’ll leave you with this photo. On the left is one of our wedding photos from 2003 in the throne room at Cinderella’s Castle, and in the middle and to the right are us last week. We’ve changed a lot, but I’d say the addition was worth it!

Mabel’s Labels Ultimate Back to School Combo

Default post image

Going back to school can be stressful. Let’s be honest here. School supply lists can be a mile long, and every piece you bough has to be labeled. That means each and every one of those 24 crayons has to have your child’s name on it. The task can be daunting and time-consuming. And frankly, “aint nobody got time for ‘dat”. So Mabel’s Labels sent me their Ultimate Back to School Combo to save me time, energy, and frustration because my daughter was able to label all of her school supplies WITHOUT my supervision. That’s right, child labor FTW!

How to keep your eyes healthy this summer!

Default post image
I wrote this review while participating in an Influencer campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. and received a promotional item from Mom Central to thank me for participating.

EyeFacts 300x128

My family and I have several trips planned this summer, all involving the outdoors. We all take our eye health very seriously (all 3 of us wear glasses and/or contacts) so we know the importance of keeping our eyes in the best condition possible. When we spend out time outdoors, we take certain measures to protect our eyes from the sun. We use a combination of hats, sunglasses (making sure that there is some type of UV protection available- I even bring the generic glasses to our optometrist to make sure they’re good enough), umbrellas, seek out shelter and more. When seeking out shelter, we normally head in during the mornings and evenings because that’s when your yes are more likely to get extreme UV exposure. Also, grass, sand, and water are all more likely to reflect UV rays that can be even more harmful! As the days get longer, our UV exposure is increased. We’re talking spring through fall, you have to take extra steps to protect your eye health. I’m also a big fan of the site: Fast Facts for Your Health: The Sun & Your Eyes: What You Need to Know from ACUVUE®. There’s a ton of information there that’s extremely useful when it comes to your eye health. It’s also important to talk to your doctor about UV protection.

Experts say it is difficult to isolate the exact amount of damage that Ultraviolet Radiation (UV) imposes on the eye over long periods of time. However, a number of studies have shown that the effects of UV radiation are mostly cumulative and may increase the chance of …Continue Reading…

Bob Evans Broasted Chicken- It’s Worth It.

Default post image
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Bob Evans. I received gift cards to facilitate my dining experience and to thank me for participating.

Recently I told ya’ll about my trip to a local Bob Evans to try their new Broasted Chicken Dinner. Congrats to my giveaway winner T!

BobEvansEntree 300x300

Needless to say it’s been on my mind (and my family’s) ever since we had it! Bob Evan’s Broasted Chicken is not your typical broasted chicken! Their Broasted Chicken is marinated for hours and each piece is hand-coated in a blend of secret spices (I tried to bribe the chef for the recipe, and no dice. You can’t blame a girl for trying!). The broasted chicken is pressure fried it until it’s the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and piping hot. Three-piece Bob Evans Broasted Chicken Dinner for $9.99 includes starter (you must try their broccoli cheese soup- it’s ridiculously creamy), entrée, dessert (Three words: Chocolate. Bread. Pudding.) and your choice of endless bread (their rolls and biscuits are TO DIE FOR). There are so many ways to customize your dinner with the three courses, your possibilities are endless. I love it when I have options- especially when they’re tasty options! I chose the buttery mashed potatoes with my dinner (minus the gravy, because I think it’s weird.) and they were delicious! The fact that this dinner is so affordable AND pleases even the pickiest eater (my kiddo) makes it a huge win in my book!

Since Bob Evans is such a great restaurant that is known for its good food and hospitality, it makes for a great outing for families that are celebrating Father’s Day, anniversaries and even birthdays! My family likes to celebrate Saturdays at Bob Evans icon wink Have you been to Bob Evans lately? Did you get to try the new Broasted Chicken Dinner? If so, tell me what you thought about it and what options did you choose?
